In this hot weekend I will share about #Festival in #Gangwon - do.
This is my last article about #VisitKorea #VisitGangwondo but I will share about other place later, don't worry ~^^
JANUARY
1. Taebak Snow Festival - Taebak
This is a Festival where you can see the magnificent scenery of white snow piled up on boughs like cherry blossom.
2. Ice World, Hwacheon Sancheoneo (Mt.Trout) Festival - Hwacheon
A festival where you can ice-fish for trout and enjoy winter sport.
3. Inje Ice Fish Festival - Inje
A winter festival with the themeof icefish living only in cleanest water, snow and ice.
APRIL
King Danjong Festival - Yeongwol
A culture festival designed to honor Danjong, the 6th King of the Chuson Dynasty, who was unseated from the throne by his uncle.
Gangneung Gyeongpo Cherry Blossom Festival - Gyengpo
A festival when magnificent white cherry blossoms decorate the entire length of 4,3km-long Gyeongpo Lake.
MAY
Chuncheon Int'l Mime Festival - Chuncheon
The Largest mime festival in Asia, with many domestic and foreign mime theatre group participating (end May).
JUNE
Gangneung Danoje Festival - Gangneung
Gangneung's traditional Festival designated by UNESCO as one of the "Master-pieces of the Oral and Intangible of Humanity" in 2005.
AUGUST
Hwacheon Tomato Festival - Hwacheon
The Hwacheon Tomato Festival is held annually for consecutive four days, an extension from the usual three-days event held previously, based on opinions of tourists and residents.
SEPTEMBER
Hanji Festival - Wonju
A festival where you can enjoy the treasure of Korean Traditional paper with a several millennial history.
Hyoseok Cultural Festival - Pyeongchan
Hyoseok Cultural Festival is held to commemorate modern Korean writer Lee Hyo-seok and his popular novel 'When Buckwheat Flowers Bloom,' which demonstrates the connection between human life and beauty of nature through the dazzling scenery of Bongpyeong. In fact, Bongpyeong is the author's hometown, and appears frequently in his novels.
OCTOBER
Song-i Mushroom Festival - Yangyang
An experience festival where you can see personally pick and taste pine mushroom at a pine mushroom-producing district.
Arirang Festival - Jeongseong
This festival takes the theme of ‘Jeongseon Arirang’, a variation of the Korean folk song ‘Arirang’, which was developed in the Jeongseon region. The Jeongseon Arirang Festival was started to preserve the ‘Jeongseon Arirang’, an intangible cultural asset, and to pass along its culture to following generations.
Seorak Cultural Festival - Sokcho
The festival has been established to promote unity among local residents and Korean traditional folk culture rooted in Sokcho. During the festival period, the local citizens and tourists participate in several events regarding the sea and mountain such as a climbing competition, visiting Seoraksan National Park, a gaetbae (ship)-dragging competition, a fishing competition, trundling of heundeul bawi (흔들바위; literally "swinging rock"), and the tasting of squid dishes.
Salmon Festival - Yangyang
A Festival where you can catch or cheaply buy salmon returning to their birthplace.
Pollack Festival - Goseong
The festival has helped the city to promote their local seafood, farm products and other specialties, thus contributing to the growth of the local economy.
